Track Veterans Monument Fundraising Progress on Community Sign

The mercury in the Highlands Ranch Veterans Monument fundraising thermometer sign on the southeast corner of Broadway and Highlands Ranch Pkwy (across from Safeway) continues to rise as we get closer to our goal.  Please take a look as you drive by.  Thanks to Dodge Signs for building this sign. We are working hard to keep our expenses minimal so that donations benefit the future monument.

Fundraising Campaign Continues

A dedicated group of community volunteers, supported by the Highlands Ranch Park & Recreation Foundation, the Metro District of Highlands Ranch and the Highlands Ranch Library, is conducting a fundraising campaign for the Highlands Ranch Veterans Monument, to be built and located between Civic Green Park and the Highlands Ranch Library. The Highlands Ranch Veterans Monument will be a solemn place to pay tribute to veterans who have served and to whose who have given their lives for our nation.

On Tuesday, August 8, 2005, Army Staff Sgt. Christopher Falkel, a 2001 ThunderRidge High School graduate who served as a Green Beret, was killed in Afghanistan. Falkel was the first Highlands Ranch resident to be killed in action.
